“I don’t think there are any secrets to running a successful business but rather just doing the obvious things well. If you take care of your customers, build good relationships around you and represent products that you are intensely passionate about, it’s hard to go wrong.”

Since becoming somewhat of a The Photo Diner HQ we’ve put more time into thinking about how the office space works.

It needs to be functional but still warm as it’s part of our home. Also, we’ve got Apple chargers set up EVERYWHERE. Seriously, I think they are mating.

“Social media is challenging the status quo, with over a million blogs worldwide contributing, at every level, to the fashion dialogue and content is being produced at a frenetic pace.”

“When it comes to running The Photo Diner, we like to stick to some key principles.

The first, and probably most important is to trust ourselves and our instincts. We’ve learned pretty quickly that if something doesn’t feel right, it’s probably not. Another crucial factor in running a business is to surround yourself with good people. Remember: you don’t know everything so let others help you.”

We recently ventured into the beautiful home office of Gaby Howard and Nadine Von Cohen of The Photo Diner for Harper’s Bazaar Style Network.

Here are a few shots but click forth for a wonderful interview with the girls about the somewhat daunting task of changing the way fashion photo management is forever done in Australia. No big deal or anything.

Gracie Otto - Citizens of the World

This is just an outtake of the shoot we did with filmmaker Gracie Otto. Those who followed her wardrobe antics from the front row of fashion week will know that she wears things very well. We reversed the leather  ‘Ara Tee’ from Eska Alikai and she rocked it. Adore her.

We’ve been O&M’s Atonic spray for chronically thin hair daily ever since it entered our lives.

We’re not particularly high maintenance when it comes to the mane so using things that provide maximum bang for barely minimal effort is a major plus.

Hence why it seems so perfect that the Original &Mineral team (lead by creative director Hugo Ferrozzi) collaborated with KAHLO for MBFWA this year. Both are geniuses at delivering minimalist elegance mixed with interesting textures so it’s a pretty good match.

But speaking of easy to do DIY hair, read on for details straight from Hugo on how to recreate the KAHLO look below.

PS: We can personally vouch for results that spraying a little Atonic will do for your hair. RESULTS in thickness and general smoothness are immense and gratification is guaranteed.

Step One: To give volume and edge to the sporty luxe inspired look, Wasp Hair extensions were added to the back of the hair.

Step Two: To the create foundation for this look, we saturated the hair using small sections of Rootalicious root lift, brushing the hair backwards off the face.

Step Three: Blow-dry the hair into small sections with a round brush, blow-drying straight. A couple of drops of Frizzy Logic shine serum were used to moisturise the hair.

Step Four: Using small sections, tease the hair adding a coat of Original Queenie firm hairspray, then crimp the hair, brushing off the crimping, finally layering some more hairspray to add texture and control.

Step Five: Work your way up to the crown, repeating step three from ear to ear.

Step Six: Hair was brushed back flat with a Style Guru movement cream, following the head shape, using a flat brush adding some Original Queenie firm hold hairspray
